Java tasks with JGlider — unreleased preview
After local setup, ask your agent to inspect a Maven or Gradle project. These tasks read source without edits.
Understand a Java file
Ask
> List the declarations in OrderService.java. Read its main type and explain its responsibilities.
Expected evidence
Named declarations, source locations, and type text. The explanation comes from source, not resolved call relationships.
Technical references: get_structure, get_type_source
Find a declaration by name
Ask
> Find declarations whose names contain Order. Show the matching files and inspect the relevant method.
Expected evidence
Case-sensitive name matches and method source. The agent checks coverage before saying a declaration is absent.
Technical references: search_symbols, get_method_source
Inspect an exact Java symbol
Ask
> Resolve the exact OrderService declaration. Inspect its compiler details and show diagnostics for its module.
Expected evidence
Exact declaration candidates, compiler metadata, and diagnostics with coverage evidence. The agent selects a module and scope when contexts overlap.
Technical references: resolve_symbol, get_symbol_info, get_diagnostics
Trace a method use
Ask
> Find the exact calculateTotal method. Show its references and direct callers before I change it.
Expected evidence
Exact compiler-bound references and caller groups. The agent checks relation coverage before saying that no use or caller exists.
Technical references: resolve_symbol, find_references, find_callers
Inspect project configuration
Ask
> Describe the Java project modules and source roots. State whether the model is static, partial, or complete.
Expected evidence
Build-model facts and configuration text. Safe mode avoids build execution and can omit computed settings.
Technical references: server_status, get_file_contents
Recover after a workspace change
Ask
> If a semantic query reports stale_snapshot after my edits, sync the project and resolve OrderService again.
Expected evidence
Fresh compiler facts from the new publication. Earlier semantic keys and cursors no longer apply.
Technical references: sync, resolve_symbol, get_symbol_info
